CRB PRO Inletting Tool

Product Details

Cut a perfect inlet every time.

The CRB PRO inletting tool offers ease-of-use when paired with a high-speed drill or lathe. This versatile tool is equipped with interchangeable blades specifically designed for inletting grips with various up- locking seat diameters, including .760, .810, .850, .900, and .950.

The front guide shaft is designed to seamlessly fit into the 6mm anodized aluminum sleeve, providing a clean and precise cut. The aluminum sleeve itself has been engineered to fit inside the common .250” inner diameter cork grips, although it can be arbored with tape to accommodate larger grip sizes.

What sets this tool apart is its extended shaft, which serves to stabilize the cutting process. This feature ensures that rod builders can consistently achieve flawless inlets with every use. Beautifully finished in CRB PRO Blue anodized aluminum, this set includes a zippered case, a hex key for blade changes and extra set screws.

Details: Comes with 5 blade sizes.

Beautiful Tool

So I started building rods and here comes along my first fly build. A file/reamer works fine if you make your inlet before gluing that ring to the rest of the handle but this thing is just fantastic. I like that you can build your entire handle before boring the inlet. It cuts cork and burl quickly, accurately, and smoothly. Its also very simple to setup. It is easy to over shoot your depth though so I used tape on the tool to mark the depth of the inlet. The case is a nice touch too. I don’t believe there is a “top” or “bottom” to the blades. Both sides seem to cut just the same. Just make sure the notches on the blades are facing outward and you’re good to go. This tool will save you time and frustration when it comes to boring inlets. Buy an extra set of blades and you’ll be set for a long while. This is by far my favorite rod building tool!
