Class Description

Have you ever wanted to build your own fishing rod but don't know where to start? Well this is the class for you! Mud Hole is pleased to begin offering an "Introduction to Rod Building" class in our facility in Oviedo, Florida. Our rod building class will be taught by experienced instructors with state of the art teaching aids and projection equipment.

During the class, students will learn all of the the proper techniques for building a custom rod. Some of the techniques you will learn include:

Selecting the right blank and components Splining blanks Attaching tip-tops Thread wrapping Cork reaming

Filing guide feet Guide placement Applying finish Attaching reel seats ... and much more

What's Included in the Class?

Students will build a 6'6" spinning rod from pre-assembled kits, which are included in the price of the class. Choose your favorite thread colors and a custom fish decal. Not only do we provide all of the necessary tools and supplies, but you get to keep them when you leave!
