Why You Need to Build a Micro Rod Today
Distributes Rod Stress Better
Since you use more micro guides on a rod build, there are more guides that help absorb the load put on the rod in any one rod section.
Inherits the Blanks' Original Performance
Micro-guides are much smaller and lighter than conventional guides, which means there is less material used, and therefore leads to better performance because it inherits more of the blank’s original and natural action.
Micro guides keep the line off the rod and significantly reduces the amount of guide rubbing that goes on as the line travels down the guide train, which results in longer casting distances.
Lighter Weight & Reduced Materials
The weight of a complete set of micro guides for a typical rod is much less than conventional guides, and you use less thread and epoxy during the build.
By using less material and reducing overall weight, your custom rod using micro guides inherits more of the blank’s original action as possible and that can be felt through the rod into your hands.
Reduce Wind Knots & Possible Damage
When using braid and casting into the wind, your line will be less likely to wrap around micro guides. Also, rods with micro guides fit into rod tubes and boat rod lockers more readily than standard guides, and are less subject to associated damage.
