MHX ST1562 review

by - verified purchaser
This blank was built as a spinning blank, rather then it's 'center pin' designation. It was built using the new wave guide system despite the recommendation that those guides not be used on the blank. That 'advice' was found to be totally lacking in imagination. It was designed to launch 1/4- 3/8
weights and thill precision floats very long distances. The reel the blank was built around is a diawa ss 1300 spooled with 6lb nano fill with a fluorocarbon leader. The design allows very long float and drift cast way up stream and continues to allow drift control far down stream. It has performed so well, will be ordering the 13'-3pc medium action blank. If a builder wants to think outside the box, this blank has awesome potential. It the 11th steelhead blank in the MHX line I have purchased and cannot emphasize the multiple roles these blanks can perform. Much of the 8'-6 - 10' models have been built with bonefish in mind and just rule flats on windy days. Blanks are a bargain at their price.
