Phenix Rod Blanks

Seeking to expand our early 1977 fishing roots, Phenix began a journey to build the brand that our devoted following had grown to love and take our custom rods to the next level.

In 2006 Phenix expanded current product lines with a much wider range of rod offerings that make use of premium design and components while still preserving our brand's existing custom quality look and feel. Since then, we have added an increase in application specific models as well as a boost in sensitivity and a decrease in overall rod weight.

Black Diamond Series Saltwater

A new generation of saltwater blanks has been born. Using Toray’s high strength Carbon Fibers, the Black Diamond is created with a unique layering process and a “secret sauce” resin. This combination of aerospace technology allowed us to fabricate a super strong blank that has a thinner diameter and weighs considerably less than any other rods in its class.

Constructed from T-18 Toray Multi-composite/carbon fiber woven material, the rod blanks are well balanced and light weight. Additionally, the unidirectional carbon fiber creates extraordinarily high strength, giving the angler an edge in rod performance.

Abyss Saltwater Series

Constructed with Toray Graphite/S-Glass composites, the Abyss rod blank was designed for “West Coast” style surface jig and live bait anglers. Traditionally, rod blanks of similar applications tend to be much heavier and have a wider base diameter, which often leads to casting fatigue. The Abyss rod blanks are built lighter, have smaller diameters yet still providing superior lifting power. Also, the Abyss incorporates “laser etched” technology, which adds to its unique appearance.

The Phenix Ultra™ is composed of our own proprietary blend of materials from Toray, the world leading manufacturer of Carbon Fibers. Utilizing Toray's unique M40J, 55Msi Carbon Fiber, along with an exceptional balance of other high strength T Series Graphites, we enhance the tensile and compressive strength while conserving the physical nature of the Phenix Ultra™. As a result, we were able to create an extraordinary blank that is phenomenally light and strong with Ultra performance, all features demanded by the most distinguished anglers. This material is featured in the following series listed below: Ultra MBX, Ultra MBX Spinning, and the Super Flipper.

The Net V gives the Mirage a very soft and forgiving action while maintaining a solid backbone. The thin diameter of the Net V blank permits the Mirage to be extremely light and balanced. The Mirage series features a 2 piece option that breaks from just above the handle. This allows for compact storage and travel while ensuring the performance of a one piece rod.
