Dear Mudhole Sales & Marketing, I would like to tell you how pleased I am with the products that I purchased from your website in December/January of this year. I purchased blanks and the necessary components to build three complete rods and perform a guide overhaul on an existing rod. Prior to this, I had performed some minor guide repairs, but never built one from scratch.

The Texas coast is a booming fishing paradise and I question whether the market here is well aware of your presence. I found your site through an Internet search along with several others. The name of your business is unique and I think the retention is very high once people see or hear it.

I primarily fish the local lakes, bays, jetties, and rivers systems of the Texas coast. Last summer I made three trips offshore in my new 22' BlueWave boat. I quickly realized that I did not have large enough tackle for what was taking my bait. I had some old surf rods with large spinning reels, but the rods were past their time and too long for boat fishing.

Two of the blanks I purchased were in your "Specials" section and were Stock # SPSWB7H Mud Hole 7ft E-Glass Fiberglass Rod Blank. I wanted to build some rods for light/medium offshore fishing primarily targeting King Mackerel, Cobia, Amberjack and Dorado.

I completed the first rod (in a hurry) about two days before a company sponsored fishing trip on February 16/17. I have attached a picture of the rod I built with a ~ 30lb YellowFin Tuna I caught during the trip. This was the first fish caught with the rod and I have to say it performed very well. I lost a larger tuna earlier on the rod, but it was due to the line weight and fish size more than anything. I have now almost completed the second offshore rod and have been getting ready for the Texas summer offshore season. ......

I just got back from La Paz, Mexico, where I tried out two of the new "panga-style" short rods (4'9") on school yellowfin tuna up to 60 lbs. One of the panga rods I had made up used a Mud Hole SPSWB7H blank. It got a lot of hard action on those feisty tuna, and it delivered admirably. I still have several of that blank and its somewhat lighter brother, and intend to make up more of the panga rods using them. Your small-boat, inshore/near-shore fishing customers should really try these ultra-short, fast rods for themselves. Will they be surprised! They're short in length but not in performance!
