MHX 7'0" Medium S-Glass Rod Blank - SSP843-MHX

I like the way it feels and sets up. I love a good glass rod for deep cranking.

S-Glass rod blank

I like the color of the blank but I had some issues right away. A standard size 16 reel seat will only slid down to about a foot away from the bottom of the blank because of how big the diameter is of the lower section of the rod blank. It was also difficult to ream out the lower cork section of the handle to make it fit. Plus I had to turn some custom wood and cork rings to make up the difference, as the stock cork lower section wasn’t long enough because of that. And boy it that blank heavy in weight compared to a carbon fiber rod blank. But I kind of expected that but it still took me by surprise.
Here in Minnesota, it will be a couple of months yet before I get a chance to use it but I am hoping that it will work better for crank bait fishing than my other rods.

This is my most favorite rod I jus wish it was in some different colors..other than that it's hands down the best cranking rod I've built and used
