Generation 4 Vivid Color Preserver

I was using ProKote and made a switch to just try it. I will not be going back. Gen 4 IMO is cleaner looking and less micro air bubbles. Only complaint is not having an indicator part on the bottle on how much is left. I have a small bottle on reserve for that pinch moment.

Went on easy. Kept the color from darkening with the Generation 4 cover.

I like how it goes on much clearer than other brands. There is no milky sheen as it dries making me confident my epoxy will be exceptionally clear as well.

Like another poster here, I am also comparing this to the old Gudebrod color preserver. I still have some old CP left that I use for thread with a sheen to it. I compared Gen 4 with the Gudebrod, and the Gen 4 will slightly darken your thread, while also reducing the sheen of the thread. It will also leave a whitish hue if you go more than 1 layer. The hue isn't very noticeable - only to the rod builder - a customer most likely will not notice. For the money, it works, and it covers the thread okay, just a bit runny. If you want to keep the original bright sheen of your thread, look elsewhere however.

Easy to use and excellent thread protection. My go to color preserver.
